I hope you are all feeling well and enjoying this lovely time a year.
The ones of you that’s been reading my blog for a few years (back when I only wrote in Swedish) might remember I’m not the biggest fan of Christmas. Don’t get me wrong I do love the winter and when it snows I love to stay in and cook Christmas food and bake Christmas treats, watch Christmas movies. But Christmas is usually more cosy with a significant other.
Also one of the reason I don’t like Christmas and NYE is the pressure that comes along, you need to have amazing plans because all the peer pressure coming from literally everyone you know. But worst are the people that you are not close with that ask you in a sneaky ways to see if you don’t have as “nice plans” as they do or that fake invite you to their parties. I mean seriously this is a thing happening to some many people.
I think of all the people that are alone during the holidays and it makes my heart hurt.
When I think of the people being alone on Christmas or NYE it makes me want to cry to be honest.
I wish of all my heart that I someday could organize a day or dinner event for all people that’s alone or old to attend for free on Christmas.
I know you can’t gather all people that’s alone for Christmas around the world, but if one could make some people’s Christmas better even if just in one city than that would be amazing.
Of course it’s amazing with lovely presents and all the material stuff, I would lie if I say I don’t love fancy things and dreaming away looking at amazing photos. But that is not all what Christmas is about my loves.
My wish is that all of you reading my blog try and reach out to those people you hold dear in your hearts this Christmas, regardless if it’s that friend you haven’t spoken to for a long time, a distant relative you miss or a family member you don’t always get along. A phone call, message or invitation from you could mean more to them than you could ever have guessed
Lots of hugs//Louise
