Hi dolls! Since I have not been feeling well I have not been able to do any make up tutorials :'( I’m really sad about this and I miss posting make up looks here on the blog. So I thought why not repost this old throwback post! It is quite old but I still love this look so much so love to share it again ♥ I have attached the original text below with some added notes and tips as well!
I would probably say this is one of my all time favorites make up looks.
I have not seen this look anywhere else, instead I just came up with it a few years ago while messing around swatching different shadows trying to be creative (lol!).
The ombre effect is when you use a darker eye shadow in the outer corner of your eyes and using a much lighter shadow in the inner corner. Just make sure to use plenty of eye shadow primer first so the shadows really attaches onto the skin for the final blending. I like to first use a bright shadow all over my eye lids and underneath my eyebrows, then I dab on a little bit of primer on top of that and then go onto applying the two different tones.
The final touch is using a colors that is somewhere in between the two other tones used, for this look I used a golden color. You gently apply the third color in the middle of the eye lids and blending up and down, not side to side as many make up artists do. You do not want to blend to much so you literally blend out the contrast.
You might think to yourself now like “whoa hold up that’s waaaay to much for me”, but trust me when I say anyone can learn how to do this, just practice!
You could probably do this with any colours but I love the bronze/green/beige colors for this. You can try and create this look with any golden shimmery eye shadow, a light beige eye shadow, a bronze eye shadow (preferably with green undertone) and a dark brown bronze shadow. But I must say the “Magic Touch” by BareMinerals is just peeerfect!
This ombre application technique really makes your eyes stand out and sparkle a bit extra, without going to dark with the colours so it looks intimidating. I have even received compliments from guys on this look, one told me “wow your eye shadow is so perfect” haha!! And that coming from a guy with no make up interest, is def a big thumbs up.
I have listed all the products I used below and done the break down of my tricks and tips.
Eye shadow primer Lily Lolo
Eye shadows BareMinerals “The Magic Touch”, Maybelline Color 24 hour tattoo (cream eyeshadow) in “05 Eternal Gold” and an old palette from Lancome called “baby nu” (unfortunately discontinued)
Lashes Victoria Secret Volume Mascara + Eylure Individual lashes (Do not like these anymore because they fall apart, the changed something with the production of these lashes *sad face*)
Eyeliner Rituals Perfect hold eyeliner “black”
Brows Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow wiz in Taupe
I start off mostiruzing my lips thoroughly with the Hemp Lip Conditioner from Body shop. Using a lot of lipliners makes the lips dry out superquickly, so make sure to moisturize a lot before doing this look!
I use three different shades of lip liner all over my lips. I use a darker nude shade (1C by MakeupForever) in the corners of my lips and on the sides, a light shade of nude (02 Pink Petal by MaxFactor) over the cupids bow and a brighter shade (1 Nude by Viva la diva) in the middle of my lips. Giving them an illusion of looking fuller and more plump! I finished off the look with some totally clear lip gloss from L’oréal.
Primer No7 Instant Illusion wrinkle filler
Foundation Sensai Cellular Anti Age Performance in “Almond beige” (I do not like this one anymore, it’s too heavy for young skin and made my skin break out in rashes…)
Concealer Mac Pro Long wear concealer in “NC15 and NC20″ (Also do not like this underneath my eyes anymore since it creases too much)
Concealer stick Maybelline CC “Colour Corrector for redness” in green for colour correction. It covers up blemishes and birthmarks insanely well (!)
Highlighter L’oréal shimmer powder in “Rose Insolence 03″
For contour I used a heavy cream foundation but I didnt like the product at all so I won’t be writing about it.
Also I used a beauty blender to work with the base products.
