TEA TIME AT MANDARIN ORIENTAL

Hi dolls! Here are a few photos from when I went for tea at The Roseberry at Mandarin Oriental.

I had a superbusy day, going from one meeting to another and in the morning I only had about one minute to get ready. Just enough time to throw on some moistruizer, mascara and lipgloss. Then in the afternoon it started raining (of course…) and I didnt have an umbrella with me (will I ever learn lol!), so my hair got all wet and frizzy. So I did not arrive at tea looking super glam, but hey at least I got a little bit of a tan haha!

We had a peach tea and cheesecake since I was not very hungry and did not feel like ordering a afternoon tea menu. The tea was way to strong for my liking. You know when they let the tea infuse with the water for too long and the flavours just go way off? Yeah that is how it tasted, I imagine the tea would have been perfect otherwise. The cheesecake was amazing however. Instead of the usual cookie/digestive base it had a softcake base (in swedish: tänk er sockerkaka). I never had a cheesecake with that combonation before and it was sooo yummie, so I def need to try and make something similar at home.
However I must say for two people paying 50 punds for tea and some cake is a bit hefty, I know it is the Mandarin, but still I feel it is a bit too much. If you go and have a full afternoon tea in London you are expected to spend between £30 for more low key places and up to £50-60 at places like the Ritz. This place is perfect if you don’t care what you spend or if you are feeling like you want to splurge. The interioer is lovely and the view over Brompton road/Sloane Street is nice as well, even when it rains.
