The key of getting the perfect nude lip look without it looking messy, boring or unforticable is investing in good lip products, a amazing lip balm and choosing the right color for your skin tone. One may think all nude/beige colors are the same but it could not be more wrong. There are literally dussins of different undertones, some are more yellow-beige, other more pink-beige while others are more towards taupe/mauve.
Generally speaking a nude lip with a pink undertone suits best for the most fair skinned, for example like myself. It goes better with a lighter skin tone and unless you have a tan, stay away from taupe colours since it can look way to harsh. These lovely shades above from Charlotte Tilbury looks just perfect. The kit is called “The Perfect Nude Kiss”-kit and I am dying to try it!
TANNED / OLIVE SKIN TONE
Olive skin tone works great with more pigmented yellow-toned beige/nude lipsticks and glosses as well as nude shades with a bit of a peachy undertone e.g the gloss in the middle above.
The kit above from MAC are a perfect example of what type of shades to look out for as well as the photos below.
Unfortunately the kit above was a limited edition kit by Mac so it’s not for sale anymore. But at least it gives you a hint of what shades to try out. Some colours to look for at MAC are the “Cremesheen + Pearl” and “Japanese Maple” lipsticks.
DARKER SKIN TONE
If you have a darker skin tone gold/beige colours will look amazing on you! Also with a darker skintone the gorgeous tones of taupe and mauve will blend perfectly into your skintone and make it looks natural. While for fairer skintones it may pop out too much and actually ruin the concept of the “nude lip look”…
Products tips are “kate/14″ from Rimmel London and Mac’s lipstick “Kinda Sexy” is suppose to be a gorgeous taupe/nude tone.
Hope you liked the guide, in my next post I will do a step by step tutorial of how to apply lip liner the best way for the nude lip look. Xx Louise
