One of my goals is to one day have a vanity set up. I have imagined just how I want it to look and this would be the perfect place for me to do my make up work!
I just love those aryclic plastic organizer, like the ones Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian have from Cosmo Cube. I remember seeing the episode where you could see there organizers and I thought it looked so neat!
Also I love this post on how this girl did her vanity, so cute!
The problem for me however is that I want to see my make up clearly, at least the products that I use. I have different sections for unopened products and products I’m currently using, so I rather have my products on shelf’s or in a big organizer than just in a drawer like I have now! I would also love the desk to be in white marble, that would look so amazing.
A make up vanity is not really have difficult to put together, it is more the lack of space that usually gets in the way of creating your dream vanity. At least that’s been the main issues for me! Living in different countries and moving around a lot has definitely made it hard to decorate a place that feels like your own.
What you need to create a vanity
– A desk that is not too deep, you don’t want the mirror on the wall to be too far away from you so you can’t see properly
– Light bulbs around the mirror or preferably a led light, alternatively a ring light. You can find those on ebay!
– A comfy chair that matches the desk (of course!)
– Cute organizers in plastic or marble
My favorite scented candles since I was maybe around 15 years old has always been Diptyque, especially the scent Feu De Bois.
It smells like a rustic open wood fire, like you’re sitting in front of a open fire in the alps or something. At least that’s what I imagine when I light up that candle and let the scent spread throughout the apartment.
It such a lovely scent because its neither feminine or macules, it smells so homely and not too sweet like some candles do. Btw, this candle is pretty much the perfect gift for a couple at least if you ask me!
I remember going to the Diptyque store in paris on my 18th Birthday trip to Paris and it was such a lovely experience to see a whole store filled with nothing but candles.
Unfortunately I couldn’t bring as many home as I liked, but I remember buying at least two :))
The second thing I love about these candles are that they are PERFECT to clean out when the candle is brunt down and use as either brush or pencil holders.
I currently have three empty Diptyque candles as brush holders and I’m planning on cleaning out more of them soon :))
The girl behind the blog Beauty Look Book (her photos below) has really come up with cute ways to use old Diptyque candles!
I have the same big black candle as seen on the last photo and she has turned hers into a mini vase for cut roses *heart eye emoji*, wow so clever!
If you love scented candles just as much as I do, then a trip to Harrods is a must. Harrods do not only offer a amazing selection on the ground floor, but also a hidden gem of candles on the 5th floor (behind the beauty salon). Perfect to buy for yourself or as a gift. I personally think that luxury candles is an amazing gift both when you do not know what to give, but also when you do. Just try and pick a neutral scent
