AUTUMN INSPO POST

autumn love

Hi dolls, as I am writing this the rain is literally pouring down and I’m making some fresh ginger and mint tea. Going to make some healthy banana bread as well tonight.
There is no season I enjoy more than fall. It truly makes me so happy to feel the cold crispy air fill the city, the trees turn into golden beauty and the nights get darker. Hot cocoa and lattes, baking pies and macarons, making soups and watching movies. Absolutely nothing is better than the feeling when autumn arrives. Spring I despise and summer I can sometimes enjoy but not always. Summers never feel cosy or special, it just uh summer… At least the summers in Sweden are awful in other countries I know it is lovely.
Even if I’m feeling sad or low, when it’s autumn it still kinda lifts my spirit. The darkness of the early evenings is soothing in some way.

EYES WIDE SHUT

eyes wide shut

Hi dolls,
It feels so strange to log onto here after the longest break I have ever taken from blogging. I’ve been blogging ever since I was 16 years old, when my blog was at its biggest point with over 400 000 readers per month I was updating several times per day and my whole life was pretty much around my blog.
I started my first personal blog called Louise A back in 2005 when I was only 15 years old, I blogged about my life but quickly realized sharing personal stories, not my forte…
So the following year I started RightNow. This was before any of the big blogs today were even thought of and for many years I was the only big beauty blogger in Sweden and it was an amazing experience. During these 12 years in beauty blogging I have learned an enormous amount about the beauty industry, everything from products safety and the health regulations to ingredients, production, brands and marketing.
I would with confidence say there is not a blogger in Sweden that have the kind of knowledge or experience that I have when it comes to beauty products. Today bloggers accept any marketing deals throw at them for money, not knowing what the brands stands for, if the products are safe or how the customer experience will be for the blog readers.
I was so young when I started blogging and when my blog became so big, I didnt really know how to manage it all and I did not have the experience about product safety as I have today.
So even thought my blog might not be what it use to be, I still feel there are certain things I just need to share and spread awareness about. It might not be updated as often (sadly) as the glory day (that’s meant as a joke hehe) but health problems and the things that causes them is something that is very real and raw to me.

So over the next few weeks I will be sharing blog posts about products that contain cancerous ingredients, one of Sweden’s biggest pharmacies that sell cancer causing products, other scary things related to health problems and injuries, the dangerous ingredients in the food we find at the grocery store, and some other dark sides of the beauty industry and blog world.
These blog posts will most likely entail information that other bloggers won’t tell you because they are afraid of loosing a marketing deal or getting invited to an event. What has driven me to update this blog for 12 years was never the fancy things most bloggers are chasing, my drive was always to inspire, both the readers but also myself.
I feel it is somewhat my responsibility to share what I can know in order to guide people on what to avoid and what to chooses when it comes to make up but also so much more ♥

BRONZE VIBES

bronze glammed eye make up mua glominerals eyeshadows bronzingHi dolls! This is another look I created back in summer 2015. It is still one of my fave looks I’ve ever done so I wanted to repost it ♥

bronze glammed eye make up mua glominerals eyeshadows bronzing bronze glammed eye make up mua glominerals eyeshadows bronzing

products

Eyes – Glo Minerals eyeshadow (sand pebble) and Maybelline eyeshadow palette, L’oréal super liner eye liner, L’oréal mascara
Base – Glo Minerals concealer (best concealer ever!!), Sensai foundation (color natural beige), L’oréal bronzing powder
Lips – Mac Lip Liner “In Sync” and L’oréal  lipgloss shade”206/For the Ladies”
Brows – Anastasia brow wiz

HOW TO CREATE THE LOOK

For the eyes I started off with applying an eye shadow primer all over the eye lid, then I used a very fluffy eyeshadow brush and lightly swept a shimmery nude shadow all over the eye lid. I then applied a dark brown bronze color from the Maybelline palette on the outer corner of my eyes and in the crease. In the middle of the eyes I applied a gold shadow with lots and lots of shimmer and finished off with a darker beige shadow in the inner corner of my eyes. And throughout this process I blended the shadows a few times and then applied a bit more. To finish I drew a very thin line of the eyeliner and directly after I used a pointy eyeshadow brush to apply anther dark brow/ bronze color from the Maybelline palette. It looks like a eyeliner that is in bronze gold, but when the eyeliner dried the eyeshadow got darker and it looked just like a normal eyeliner only with more effect and shimmer but still very natural. I actually do this a lot, first eyeliner and then straight after a apply a darker eyeshadow on top of the eye liner and it looks so nice.

HOW TO GET LONG HAIR WITH ARGAN OIL

I often get questions regarding my long hair and a few years ago a wrote the ultimate guide on how to get long hair. One of the main steps in getting your hair to grow is to skip sulfates schampos, never use hair masks directly onto the scalp as you want to keep your pores fresh and free from silicone, but most importantnly regulary use argan oil!

HOW TO MAKE ANY METALLIC EYESHADOW PIGMENTED

eyeshadow differance wet vs dry primerHave you ever had an eyeshadow palette with metallic or shimmer shadows that looks soooo amazing, but once you apply them (even with primer underneath) they just look so DULL!?
You start to question if you even put on any eyeshadow to begin with and you just end up with shimmery dust all over your face, cursing out that you spent good money on a useless eyeshadow palette that only looked pretty on inspo photos on Instagram…

Well well well, you can sit back, relax and rely on the beautyblogging-guru (Hahaha yas I’m talking about myself and yes I’m kidding) to give your the best tricks to solve this problem. Just look at the swatches I have done on these photos, looks pretty amazing huh?
No need for paying for pricey primers, all you need to do is soak your eyeshadow or highlighter brush into some cold water, dab off the excessive water and gently stroke the wet brush into the shadow or highlighter.
And BOOM, you got yourself the most popping pigmented eyeshadow ever!!!
This work on pretty much all eye shadows or highlighters that contain either lots of shimmer or glitter.
I tried it with maybe 5 different brands now and I’m shook on how great it works. It works even on products that are not suppose to be used as a “wet or dry”- eyeshadow. This will be so good for the summer when you want to highlight your decolletage as well.

However do not try these with matte shadows, I got no solutions more than avoid mattes. At least that’s I do :))
And also apply the eye make up using a wet brush as the first step of your make up routine, wait with both the mascara and base products until you’re finish with the eyeshadow. Don’t want any wet eyeshadow on top of a gorgeous base or on newly painted mascara :))

Let me know how this works for you dolls if you try it ♥

HOW TO GET THAT SUMMER GLOW

summer glow inspo tutorial

Radiant, glowing and sunkissed skin, don’t we all want it when the weather gets warmer and days sunnier.
The key details to pay attention to getting that glowing look for summer is a combination of what you eat/drink, what products you use and how you use them. So instead of writing a long essay (like I sometimes do lol!!) I’m going to shorten it down in a list.

LIFESTYLEHydrate
In the summer its curucial to step up your water intake. The recommended daily dose is 2 liter of water, however do not exceed 3 liters of fluid per day since this can thin out the blood and having other awful side effects!
Don’t overdose on caffeine
No more than 2 cups of coffee per day, instead opt to cool down with an ice latte or ice tea instead of going in on lattes.
Cut down on sugar
To be honest, speaking from a recovring sugar addict, life is better without lots of candy, sweets, cakes and dessert every day and your skin will thank you as well. It is proven that eating less sugar is better for your skin, it will prevent wrinkles and if you already have wrinkles cutting down on sugar can help minimize then!
Become a vegetarian or at least try and eat more plant based foods
Eating a lot of veggies and fruits is so good for both your body, skin and mind! So try and eat as much plant based options as you can, these days vegetarian food does not have to be boring :))
Use oils
As I’ve dived deeper into the world of cosmetics and their ingredients I’ve realised how much harmful stuff is actually in the majority of them. So if you want to nourish your skin, get that radiant glow for summer and still treat your skin to only safe products, oils and serums is the way to go!

productsTo get the glowing looks above you will need;
- A light moisturizer or facial oil (or both!)
- Facial self tanning lotion (if you are pale like me)
- Light bb cream or tinted moisturizer
- Two beauty blenders, one for the base and one for the highlighter
- Cream based highlighter
- Brow pen with spooler on one side to brush the brows
- Neutral colored shimmer eye shadows. Opt for cream based eyeshadow if you want that extra dewy, glowing look.
- Eyelash curler and a very natural mascara (no clumpy or big lashes for this look)
- Bronzing cream with light shimmer or dark contouring cream for bronzing effect (avoid loose powder ones it can look too heavy)
- Nude lip liner + nude/pink shimmering sheer lipgloss

how to applyPrep your skin weekly with a gentle scrub, facial mask and use facial oils regularly. I love using Dr Organic Facial Argan oil on my entire face and neck. Apply face self tan at least once a week if you are pale like me but want to avoid the sun!

The best thing about facial oils is even if you don’t want to use it over your entire face before make up, try applying it over the areas where you tend to get extra dry and fine lines may appear. This will prevent the bb cream from drying out your skin during a sunny day.

Moving on to the make up application, start with prepping the skin with moisturize and/or facial oil.
Let it dry for just a few minutes and move on to bb cream. I would recommend a light and airy bb cream that is not sticky, matte or high coverage. Apply a little bit at a time dabbing in the product with a wet beauty blender, you want a very light finish hence it’s better to not smear on all the product at once.
Avoid brushes since bb cream and tinted moisturizers tend to look streaky if applied with a brush!

When the base is finish apply the cream eyeshadow with your fingers or a small beauty blender for a flawless finish. If you are using a regular pressed or baked eyeshadow stick to just three tones, one for the eye lid, one for the area above the eye lid and in the corners and a third color that is bright and extra shimmering underneath your brows and in the inner corner of the eyes. Make sure you use a big and fluffy eye shadow brush to get a perfect blended finish!
I also like to do the brows when I’m done with my eye make up. I prefer to clean up the brows by gently using a wet q-tip along the brows to remove any excess eye shadow that might have been dusted onto the brows while applying the eye make up. Then when I’m done with that I move onto filling in the brows.
By the time you are done with your eye make up the base will have set so it’s time for the bronzing bit.
Apply a creamy bronzer or contouring cream just as your would apply a bronzing powder. Do not go overboard with the contouring here, just apply a bit along the jawline, underneath the cheekbones and on the sides of your forehead, think bronzing not contouring! Apply the lip products and then the last step is to apply the creamy highlighter in all areas where the sun would naturally hit your face. On top of your lips, along the middle part of your nose, above your eyebrows, cheekbones etc etc.
